‘Ishmeet got threatening SMS a few days before death’

Nearly a month and a half after Star Voice of India Ishmeet Singh allegedly got drowned in a pool in the Maldives, his parents today claimed that he had received a threatening SMS on his mobile phone a few days before the incident.

Ishmeet Singh’s body was brought home amid the chants of “Waheguru” here this afternoon.
When the van carrying his body, escorted by his father, relatives and friends, entered the street near his house, neighbours broke down. Women were seen running along the van, crying bitterly.

Ludhiana, July 29 The voice of India is no more. As the news of the death of 19-year-old Ishmeet Singh trickled in on Tuesday evening, the reaction of fans and well-wishers across the country was that of shock.
Reports said Ishmeet died in a swimming pool in Male, the capital of Maldives, where he had gone for a promotional event.

The winner of 'Voice of India' reality show, Ishmeet Singh, has died after drowning in the swimming pool of his hotel. Ishmeet, who arrived in Male' this morning, to perform in the Star Voice of Maldives, slated to be held on August 1.
Ishmeet Singh also participated in 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar', a singing competition on Star Plus channel and represented the Champions team.

"The name of the winner is Ishmeet," legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar declared, reading out the name after Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit Nene opened the envelope, to delighted clapping and whistling by the huge crowd at the Andheri Sports Complex Saturday evening.
