“Where there is light of knowledge, ignorance is dispelled.” (Guru Granth Sahib p.791)

Each year, Sikhs are reminded of their great past by festivals like Bandi Chhor Divas. Yet the darkness of ignorance continues to prevail.

Stay Faithful

Several years ago, a gyanee from out-of-town accepted a call to a
Gurdwara in canada

Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from
his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the
driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he
considered what to do, he thought to himself, "You'd better give the quarter
back. It would be wrong
to keep it." Then he thought, "Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who
would worry about this little amount?

Once a king in India went to Guru Nanak Dev Ji and asked: "O Guru! As you told us, God Himself supports His true worshiper, but God has so many apostles, why does He support Himself?

Giani Puran Singh 1984 Experiences
Sunday 5th of June 2005
Translated by : Sandeep Kandola

Translation of Katha by Giani Puran Singh Ji on his eyewitness account of Operation Bluestar

Today, Giani Sant Singh Maskeen has invited me to tell the story of 1984. On 5th June at 7.30 I went to Sri Akal Takht Sahib Ji. There I saw, (had darshan of), Baba Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale. At that time bullets were flying about. After meeting Sant Ji, I went to Sri Darbar Sahib and carried the duty of Sodar Rehraas Sahib, which was supposed to be done by Giani Mohan Singh.

Maskeen Ji was a very simple person who advocated simplicity. Wearing simple white clothes with a black turban, he looked very distinguished. His associates and other people accompanying him also followed the same simplicity of dress. He was very down to earth and had a simple and frugal lifestyle. Where ever he went he always preferred to stay at the Gurudwara Sahib and partook his meals from the Langar.
